Bathrooms - Pretty in Pink, Again
Essaouira, Morocco
In August 2009 I visited my nephew in Tamraght, Morocco.
We made a mad dash up the coast to Essaouira for a 48 hour trip. During that short time I took
over 650 photos.
That was a lot easier than finally getting to translate
some of that experience into paint.
These two are the first of a series. They are both acrylic on paper - images are approximately 17"x27".
AVAILABLE: $600.00 - Unframed.Architectural Detail
The scenic artist in me can't resist architectural detail. I painted this capital in September as an exercise in tonality.
The reference is a photograph I took several years ago at the NationalCathedral in Washington, DC. Although I don't anticipate making a series of detail images, I will always
have an eye to interesting architecture and you will see evidence of such in
the near future.
Recent Decorative Project
I thought I'd already posted this project. Apparently not.
So, catching up - My wonderful, long-term-client-turned-friend up and movedto a new house after we'd finally finished all the work in her previous one.
I think she planned that just so we wouldn't run out of projects. This one exceeded our collective vision. Standing back and looking at it
completed gave us both goose-bumps. We'd been planning this for months and
knew we were going to love it, but seeing the results was still a thrill.
The over-scale damask stencil was custom designed and cut by me :)

Way Down Upon the Swanneeee Riverrrr
We took a four mile jaunt along the Big Shoals Trail running beside the
Suwannee River today. Hot and sticky but not too bad. River is very low -
dry season. Hard to see the river through the growth much of the time but
the glimpses were beautiful. And what is it about Spanish moss? Something
beautifully ancient and ghostly.
Getting Back to the Phantom Skill
